while we were beginning to enjoy the maritimes and were looking forward to the fall colors in the east, an email from aly's stepmother in denver changed everything. aly's father was very ill. we hoofed our way back to the US, crossed the border into maine and decided to head straight for some friends of ours home in raymond, new hampshire. we arrived in new hampshire on sat afternoon, the 8th of sept and aly flew to denver on the 9th to be by her father's side.
we are so sorry and extremely sad to say, but aly's dearly beloved father passed away on the 17th of september at home with aly and his wife, mary lou, by his side. he will forever be loved my many and will be sorely missed by all. may you rest in peace dad...we love you and we will see you on the other side...

it has been a whirlwind last few weeks, and needless-to-say, documentation of our epic journey has come to a close.
but, as we are travelers, we will continue to use this blog to post future adventures...we will keep you posted...thank you for following along and we look forward to hearing from you and visiting some who we did not get to visit this go-round. our love, aly, buddy and gravy.
